- Lower Cost: HIPS is significantly cheaper than ABS, making it the superior choice for high-volume, single-use, or protected-environment applications.
Which Should You Choose?
If your product will face harsh environments, UV exposure, or heavy impacts (like a tractor hood or medical device shell), ABS justifies its higher price point. If you are manufacturing high-volume transit trays, inner liners, or point-of-purchase displays, HIPS offers the best return on investment.
